Welcome to the TitanBorn Dev Diary, a series dedicated to giving the community a behind-the-scenes look into the process of creating a game from the perspective of the game developers.
In Dev Diary #19, we’ll tell you all about what we’ve been building for the past 2 few weeks:
- Pest Control
- Swish, Swoosh, Slash!
- Blocking
- Special Moves Interruption
- Work In Progress
- Coming up next…
Pest Control
A few persistent bugs were giving our dev team a headache, and after a long, epic coding battle, they’ve resolved the issues.
Specifically, a bug was causing opponents to rotate after some hits.
Another bug was causing opponents to rotate to face a player when knocked down on the ground.
Maybe these two were the same bug. Maybe it was something like a boogie bug. Let’s call it the boogie bug.
Well now the boogie bug is gone. You may proceed to bash each other’s skulls in in peace.
Swish, Swoosh, Slash!
We’ve added a system to choose which slash or impact effect gets triggered. Also, there is now a slash effect for each attack! This element is currently still in testing, but we’re confident we’ve done it right, so we might as well brag about it, eh?
As a cherry on top, we’ve also added hit impact effects.
Basically, the fighting now looks even cooler.
Blocking
We’ve replaced the right-click-attack with a block feature. We’re currently still testing block values, but what we can say is blocking enemy attacks is one of the core Revenant values and we stand behind that 100%.
Special Moves Interruption
We’ve improved counterattacking and blocking interactions for special moves.
Work In Progress
Coming up next…
We have plenty more to showcase in our Discord and on social media. In the meantime, keep playing the demo and giving us your feedback. That being said, here is what we plan to work on in the following period:
- More gameplay improvement
- PvP!
Season 4 of TitanBorn is ending very soon. It’s time for a last push!
Until then,
Game on, Titans!
